Talk on AI applied to agriculture and blockchain at Puna Tech 2026

Context
Puna Tech 2026 brought Salta and northern Argentina's tech community together for three days focused on AI. On the 28th and 29th, the Ideathon and Hackathon ran at the Escuela de Emprendedores and Centro Cultural Dino Saluzzi; on Saturday the 30th there were talks, an expo, and parallel rooms. It was a landmark gathering to broaden access to artificial intelligence tools in the province.
My role as speaker
- Delivered a talk on AI designed for and applied to agriculture, focused on the productive context of Northwest Argentina.
- Defined what AI agents are and presented real-world use cases that can already be implemented in the region.
- Explained how blockchain properties — traceability, immutability, and distributed trust — can support key aspects of the agricultural sector.
My role as mentor
- Supported teams during the Ideathon and Hackathon in problem framing and MVP scope.
- Helped prioritize deliverables, split tasks, and prepare the final jury pitch.
- Provided technical feedback on stack choices, feasibility, and how to present the solution.
My role as staff
- Helped run the event with SaltaDev so all three days ran smoothly.
- Supported logistics, coordination between rooms, and participant assistance.
- Took part in pre-event planning and wrap-up as part of the staff team.
Outcome
Puna Tech established a regional hub for AI with over 1,500 attendees. It was a full-circle experience — outreach, mentoring, and operations — that ties directly into my work at SaltaDev and on AI-powered solutions.
